Heather Harrison, Executive Director of The Hamlet
Background: Heather holds a BA in psychology from Bard College and a Master of Social Work from Smith College. She was formerly a social worker and program coordinator at the Lopez Island Family Resource Center.
Amy Hatchel, Hamlet House Manager
After graduating from Lopez High School, Amy worked as a nursing assistant. She then earned her BS in Business Management. That led to a 25-year career as office manager for a dental practice while working in nursing homes and adult family homes. In 2020, she returned to Lopez full time and joined the Hamlet House staff.
Hamlet Cottages Manager
Simon Evans
Background: Originally from Australia, Simon Evans moved to Lopez Island with his wife in 2026 and is proud to call the island home. As Cottages Manager at The Hamlet, he enjoys caring for the cottages and grounds, supporting residents, and helping foster the warm, welcoming community that makes The Hamlet such a special place. Outside of work, Simon is an Australian singer songwriter who performs throughout the Pacific Northwest and records original music. He looks forward to sharing his love of music with residents through sing alongs and other community gatherings.
